The User WhispererAerotech, Inc. is an industry leader in high performance motion control systems based in Pittsburgh for almost 50 years. In July 2015, we undertook a company-wide effort to replace a legacy ERP system that was originally implemented in 1996, a transition that directly affected the daily activities of nearly all 460 employees in 6 offices around the world. After a year working on the migration to the new system, the development team still had a massive backlog and was not able to deliver the amount of work needed to go live with the new system. Developer and end user frustrations had grown to concerning levels. This is the story of how the Business Analyst role and a new software development workflow helped deliver a successful migration. |
