Modeling - from a Service Design Perspective - to improve requirements gathering and management
Studies cited in CIO magazine estimate 71% of projects fail due to inaccurate requirements gathering and poor requirements management. This hands-on workshop will explore how modelling and visualizing requirements discovery- from a service design perspective- can facilitate improved requirements gathering and management. Attendees will gain experience modelling a scenario and will be provided with the context to begin implementing these tools in their professional practice.

Speaker: Jean Marie Sloat
Jean Marie Sloat helps organizations scale and transform their processes, offerings, and cultures by focusing on human needs and considering how people, processes, and technology come together to deliver products and services. Jean Marie leverages her knowledge of business strategy, systems thinking, technology, and human-centered design practices to translate ambiguity into action whether working at the front end of innovation with startups or synthesizing stakeholder needs and data to design and operationalize product, service, and organizational changes for larger companies like Amazon. She currently consults for organizations in the areas of service, digital, and organizational transformation. Jean Marie is also the founder of Service Design Pittsburgh, a professional organization focused on the strategic design discipline of optimizing how people and businesses interact to achieve their respective desired outcomes. A dual Masters degree holder from Carnegie Mellon University with a M.B.A. from the Tepper School of Business and a M.A. in Design from the School of Design, Jean Marie brings over 15 years of experience innovating and driving organizational effectiveness across the value chain in technology and regulated environments. |
