How to Write Excellent Requirements

Speaker: Pam Swent - Owner of Same Page IT Consulting, LLC

How to Write Excellent Requirements

Many analysts focus too much on form, and not enough on content. Learn what makes requirements “excellent” (a hint:  it’s not about picking the right font or aligning all your text boxes!). Review sample requirements to determine if they are “excellent”, and contribute to a discussion on how to improve the ones that are not.

Pam owns Same Page IT Consulting, a business analysis and project management consulting business and is a subcontractor at B2T Training, a business analysis training company located in Alpharetta, Georgia. She is a Certified Business Analysis Professional and has practiced project management, data modeling and process re-engineering for more than 25 years. She was an employee at Mellon Bank for 16 years, a manager at Deloitte Consulting, an employee of EDS and a consultant at BNY Mellon, PNC, Innovative Benefits Consulting, Inc., Peregrine Advisors and Federated Investors where she re-engineered the Project Management Office.  Currently, she is the Chief Administrative Officer for an IT Group Manager at PNC and once a quarter does webinars for B2T Training. She holds a degree in business education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and studied Information Systems at the University of Pittsburgh.  She sits on the Board of Directors for Hearth, an organization that provides a safe haven for abused women and children.
